Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn is an American actor from the United States. She is best known for her character Skyler White in the AMC show Breaking Bad for which she was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in an Drama Series in 2013 and 2014. Other roles she has played include Jean Ward in The Practice as well as Martha Bullock from Deadwood. Anna Gunn, born 1968 in Sante Fe New Mexico fell in love with acting in preparation for her first job before moving the family there to Ohio. She attended the British American Drama Academy and took classes in theatre in the theatre department at Northwestern University. Anna was a part of Chicago's theatre for a number of years before attempting TV and movie roles. In 1992 Anna landed her first big performance as Arden in the 29th episode from Down the Shore. After a brief appearance as a Guest Actor in a variety of TV Shows and movies, including Seinfeld and NYPD Blue during the 90's, she was cast as Jean Ward as part of The Practice. In the mid 2000's she was given the role of Deadwood in the role of Martha Bullock for two full seasons. In 2008 she was cast in the role of Skyler as Skyler in Breaking Bad. Sully and Deadwood were also in her acting career. Gunn has also been seen on stage in David Schwimmer's show Sex With Strangers. In 2022, Gunn appeared in a series of audio play podcast called"Numbered Days.. The relationship between Walter White and his wife Skyler is the most prominent element of the narrative that is told in Breaking Bad with the strained pull on their relationship and eventually its demise echoing the same storyline of Walter White's final years of life.
